The International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, coordinated by the Global Network of People living with HIV is one of the world's oldest and largest grassroots mobilization campaigns for HIV awareness in the world. Started in 1983, the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial takes place every third Sunday in May and is led by a coalition of some 1,200 community organizations in 115 countries.

The spring harvest is in full swing! Look for peaches, fresh red beans, sweet corn, eggplant, plums, and peppers to hit farmer's tables this Saturday at the Market. Louisiana Culinary Institute will offer recipes suggestions for fresh spring produce during the Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration at 10AM inside Main Street Market. Bring your dancing shoes for zydeco music by local accordion player Mel Chavis. The Lagniappe Dulcimer Society will also perform inside Main Street Market beginning at 8:30AM
