LAF presents: Brandon Giles
Live After Five in Downtown Baton Rouge is the capital city's premier FREE live music event, hosted by the Downtown Business Association. This week LAF presents Brandon Giles. Over the years, Brandon has developed his own unique sound by taking the influences of rock 'n' roll artists such as Elvis, Rolling Stones, The Doors, Hank Williams, Jr. and Jerry Lee Lewis and combined that musical energy with a newer, harder rocking beat. His live shows are infused with a mix of hard rocking honky-tonk classics, electrifying blues and boogie-woogie standards which will bring the audience to their feet and leave them wanting more.

Austin Lucas
Austin Lucas is an indie artist best known for his own blend of folk punk. He is the son of Bob Lucas who is a producer/songwriter best known for his work with Alison Krauss. Catch Austin Lucas live at the Manship Theatre with the band Glossary. Glossary is a hodgepodge of American music, similar to the Rolling Stones' Exile on Main Street.

Run Wild for St. Jude
The 4th Annual Run for the Children 5K and 1 mile Fun Run/Walk to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital event is going to "RUN WILD" through Downtown Baton Rouge. Afterwards enjoy live entertainment, food, and fun. Awards will be given for the top finishers and the "Best Jungle/Safari Costume".

Creative Louisiana Presents:
Dr. Brian J. Dixon
Join the Creative Louisiana lecture series for a FREE session featuring Dr. Brian J. Dixon, educator, author, and entrepreneur. He is the founder of the Mentorship Academy of Digital Arts, a project-based charter school in downtown Baton Rouge. Brian was recently featured by the nationally followed Facebook in Education page for his use of social media in his school's promotional efforts. Dr. Dixon's talk is titled "Take Action on Your Passion" and will inspire you to turn your creative ideas into a sustainable business model. The event will start at 8:30AM for coffee and mingling, and the creative talk with start at 9AM. After group discussion, everyone is off to work by 10AM.

A memorial service will be held Memorial Day at the Louisiana Memorial Plaza (in front of the USS Kidd) to honor those men and women of Armed Forces who have lost their lives in service to our country.

The Baton Rouge Concert Band (BRCB) is a non-profit community organization dedicated to the cultural enrichment and entertainment of the Greater Baton Rouge area. The BRCB will be performing this Memorial Day on the steps of the State Capitol for a concert not to miss. These dedicated musicians are excellent artistic performers from all walks of life.
