Patriots on the Beacon
Send us a picture of those that serve presently in the military or who have served previously in the military and we will honor them on the North Boulevard Town Square Beacon. Downtown Baton Rouge is proud of all of our present and past patriots who have served in the military. American patriotic music will play throughout the day. Please send in your pictures by Thursday, June 28 at 12 noon.

The last Sunday in the Park of the season features music by Chubby Carrier & The Bayou Swamp Band. This is a FREE outdoor concert series held in North Boulevard Town Square in downtown Baton Rouge.

Kids Rule the Movies at Manship Theatre
This Wednesday completes the Kids Rule the Movies series at the Manship Theatre. Every movie ticket includes one bag of popcorn, choice of water or juice and a sweet snack! Kids are encouraged to wear their bathing suits to play in the fountains after the show. This week Manship Theatre is screening the film Open Season. Join the fun and help Boog and his forest animal army fight the hunters during the open season.

Belle of Baton Rouge Summer Concert Series

Lunchtime Concert Series with Young Band Nation
Baton Rouge Music Studios is a school of music that helps tweens and teens discover their inner rock stars. This summer, BRMS has partnered with the Downtown Development District to hold a summer series that will feature teen singer/songwriters and bands from BRMS in the new North Boulevard Town Square. The concerts will be held at the Town Lawn Stage during the lunchtime hour. BRMS has also extended an invitation to young bands in the area who are not students of BRMS in order to give them the opportunity to perform in public. Karmady Yoga: Grand Opening
Karmady Yoga Studio is now open! The class schedule begins this week and includes yoga, belly dance and zumba. There are classes available for all fitness and ability levels and modifications can be given for any reason you need. Each class is led by a trained and certified instructor. Star Spangled Saturday at Red Stick Farmers Market
Red Stick Farmers Market will celebrate the 4th of July with locally grown produce, live music and plenty of red, white and blue. Local musician John Gray will open the Market with a special rendition of the Star Spangled Banner and continue with other patriotic tunes throughout the morning with his jazz trio. Shoppers can find fresh items for holiday barbeques including sweet corn, squash varieties, sausage, shrimp, watermelons, cantaloupes, peaches and blueberries. Student chefs from the Louisiana Culinary Institute will join host chef Celeste Gill during the Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration with suggestions for patriotic picnic fare utilizing fresh produce from the Red Stick Farmers Market.

Join WBRZ and The Advocate as they present the annual Fireworks on the Mississippi Independence Day celebration. Bring your family and friends out to enjoy the largest fireworks display in the state!

Stop by North Boulevard Town Square fountains on your way to see the fireworks on the levee. We will be screening the summer classic The Sandlot at 4:30PM, on the Town Square Beacon. A second showing of the movie will begin just after.

Independence Day Concert:
Baton Rouge Concert Band
The Baton Rouge Concert Band (BRCB) is a non-profit community organization dedicated to the cultural enrichment and entertainment of the Greater Baton Rouge area. The BRCB will be performing this Independence Day on the steps of the State Capitol for a concert not to miss. These dedicated musicians are excellent artistic performers from all walks of life.

USS KIDD presents:
Star Spangled Celebration
This July 4th, journey downtown to the Baton Rouge riverfront. The annual Star-Spangled Celebration will kick off at 12PM at the Riverfront Stage between the USS KIDD Veterans Memorial and Riverfront Plaza. Serving as the largest fundraiser of the year for the USS KIDD Veterans Memorial. The celebration features live musical entertainment throughout the afternoon followed by Fireworks on the Mississippi sponsored by WBRZ and The Advocate. Please come out and support the USS Kidd.
