Summer Lecture Series
The Capitol Park Museum is hosting a summer lecture series featuring Southern University professors and instructors throughout July. This Thursday Dr. Charles Vincent, noted author of numerous publications, will discuss African-Americans' participation in the Civil War in Louisiana, Reconstruction and the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus. Museum galleries will remain open until the program begins and guests are invited to arrive early to view the exhibits.

Legally Blonde The Musical at Manship Theatre
Center Stage proudly presents Legally Blonde The Musical. Featuring sorority star Elle Woods who doesn't take "no" for an answer. Just Peachy at Red Stick Farmers Market
The Markets honor the sweet Louisiana peach this Saturday with Just Peachy. Join Kathy Mangham of Gourmet Girls inside Main Street Market to learn sweet summer recipes featuring locally grown peaches. She will prepare a traditional tres leches cake topped with peaches from Plantation Pecan. The little ones will also enjoy face painting from 9AM to 11AM and a special peach themed art activity.
