Legally Blonde The Musical at Manship Theatre
Center Stage proudly presents Legally Blonde The Musical. Featuring sorority star Elle Woods who doesn't take "no" for an answer. When her boyfriend dumps her for someone serious, Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books and sets out where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law School. This production is an all-singing, all-dancing, feel good musical comedy that is one "Elle of a show"! This is the last week the musical will be in Baton Rouge.

The purpose of this event is to "Light Up the Night!" Participants are encouraged to dress up their running gear with lights, glow sticks, etc. Be as creative as you want because there will be a prize for the "Brightest Runner." Cross the finish line and join The American Cancer Society for the after party at Happy's Irish Pub on Third Street.

The Capitol Park Museum is hosting a summer lecture series featuring Dr. Eva S. Baham explores change of the century values via three African-American women - Valena C. Jones, Frannie C. Museum After Dark: A Tale of Baton Rouge Candy and Culture
The photographers in A Tale of Two Cities were compelled to document the parts of their cities that were in danger of being lost to modernism, growth, and inevitable change. With Culture Candy, we asked Baton Rougeans to photograph similar areas of our city. Those photographs have been available online at culturecandy.org, but this event will allow you to join the photographers for a reception and slide show of their images.

Cool as a Cucumber at Red Stick Farmers Market
Cucumbers take center stage this week as Red Stick Farmers Market and Louisiana 2 Step present Cool as a Cucumber. Raw cucumbers add texture to salads and sandwiches and are a popular condiment when pickled. Cucumbers are very popular in Asian dishes and this Saturday's Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration will feature cucumbers in traditional Japanese preparations. Jimmy Le of Rock-n-Sake will demonstrate recipes using fresh cucumbers and offer samples to Market shoppers. Kids will enjoy face painting as well as cucumber themed art activity. Musical entertainment will include The Lagniappe Dulcimer Society.
