Women & Wine on Wednesdays is an ideal opportunity for women in Baton Rouge who are striving to balance their own needs with those of their families, jobs, community involvement, as well as maintain their own personal overall well-being. The monthly events fulfill an ongoing and critical need for women to be able to share resources and discover new opportunities as they transition through the many stages of their lives, providing access to a larger network of both business, social, and community connections. Manship Theatre presents Lindsey Buckingham
American guitarist, singer, composer and producer Lindsey Buckingham is most notable for being the guitarist and male lead singer of the musical group Fleetwood Mac from 1975 to 1987, and 1997 to present day. Aside from his tenure with Fleetwood Mac, Buckingham has also released six solo albums and two live albums featuring such hits as "Trouble," "Go Insane," and "Holiday Road." As a member of Fleetwood Mac, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. In 2011, Buckingham was ranked 100th in Rolling Stone magazine's 2011 list of "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".

Films at Manship:The Highest Pass
Part heart pounding adventure, part spiritual quest, this award winning film shares the journey of seven seekers who follow a guru with a Vedic death prophecy on a motorcycle trip up to the highest pass of the Indian Himalayas. Jon Anderson, lead vocal for YES, wrote two original songs for the film including the title song, "The Highest Pass." There will also be a Q&A immediately following the film with Guru Anand Mehrota.

LSU Museum of Art hosts Louisiana: 200 Years of Statehood
Join LSU Museum of Art and Louisiana Public Broadcasting collaboration in celebrating the 200th birthday of Louisiana with LPB's one-hour documentary, Louisiana: 200 Years of Statehood, at the Manship Theatre. There will also be Wine & Cheese Reception and tour of the exhibition, Uniquely Louisiana, by curator Natalie Mault Mead on the fifth floor at 6:15PM.

Hang on tight Baton Rouge! The Professional Bull Riders Chris Shivers Invitational is coming to the River Center on Friday, August 24th and Saturday, August 25th. Downtown is starting the party early and in honor of the Professional Bull Riders, the Baton Rouge River Center will have a mechanical bull that you can ride in Town Square this Friday, August 17th! 100.7 The Tiger and Country Legends 104.9 will be giving away PBR tickets to the first 100 people during the lunchtime.
