Sunday in the Park returns!
Sunday in the Park returns this fall with Chasing Scarlett. Sunday in the Park is a series of FREE outdoor concerts held on the Town Lawn. Six concerts will be held from 12PM until 3PM on Sunday on October 7, 14, 22, 28, November 4, and 11. This Sunday, the Louisiana National Guard 256 BTSB will be at the North Boulevard Town Square for its Iron Horse Run, finishing up on the Town Lawn at Sunday in the Park.

Lunchtime Lagniappe / Baton Rouge Cemeteries
This weeks Lunchtime Lagniappe Faye Phillips explains the history of Baton Rouge cemeteries. From immigrants who used the burial grounds at military forts to family-created places of rest, to the beginning of burial as a business. All programs begin at noon and are free and open to public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch and may come and go as their schedules require. The Louisiana State Museum Friends will have refreshments available for a small donation.

Zombie Bash 5k
Zombie Bash is back from the dead for 2012...and coming for you! This 5K race begins and ends at the award-winning 13th Gate Haunted House in Downtown Baton Rouge, and follows an out & back route along River Road. After the race, stick around for food, drinks, and a performance of Michael Jackson's "Thriller"! 1st and 2nd place will be awarded in each of the following: Age Group, Overall, Masters, and Grand Masters. Costumes are encouraged.

The Listening Room presents Mark Whitfield
Jazz Guitarist and former Baton Rougean, Mark Whitfield and his band Whitfield Extended headline the next Listening Room concert from the Arts Council. Whitfield Extended is Mark's hard bop quartet featuring his sons Davis Whitfield at the piano, Mark Jr. on Drums, and Bassist James Genus.

LASM Golden Anniversary Gala
Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM) will host its Golden Anniversary Gala Friday, October 5, from 7:30PM to 10:00PM. Guests will enjoy an opulent array of food and drink from Baton Rouge's top restaurants and caterers. Music will be provided by Ned Fasullo and his Fabulous Big Band Orchestra. There will also be a silent auction featuring hundreds of deluxe items, including fine art, a fishing trip, beach condos and more. Gala-goers will also have the first look at the fall art exhibition 50 Years of Collecting, showcasing artworks and artifacts selected from among LASM's major holdings.
