2012 Jambalaya Jam
The 2012 United Way Jambalaya Jam will take place in North Boulevard Town Square starting at 5PM on Thursday. The 25th anniversary of this cook off is sure to not disappoint. Come out and taste over 40 different jambalayas and listen to great live music!

Saturday at the Market
Start your Saturday morning off downtown at Main Street Market with a crepe, muffin, quiche or traditional full breakfast from one of the many local cafes. Then enjoy the weekly Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration featuring local chef Jimmy Le of Rock-n-Sake as he cooks with local ingredients available from the Red Stick Farmers Market. The cooking demonstration begins at 10AM inside the North Street seating area of Main Street Market. You'll also enjoy live music from local guitarist Kevin Johnson while shopping for the freshest veggies in town outside at the Red Stick Farmers Market.

Pastime Gameday Shuttle
Pastime Restaurant offers their shuttle service for LSU homes games for $12. The first shuttle begins 3 hours before the kickoff and drops passengers off at the corner of Nicholson & Skip Bertman Drive. The pick-up after the game will be at Mike's Cage with the last bus heading back to Pastime no later than 30 minutes after the final gun.

Touchdown Express Shuttle
The Capital Area Transit System is providing transportation to and from all 2012 LSU home football games. For only $4, fans can be picked up in North Boulevard Town Square as well as other locations around the city. The shuttle will run 4hrs before the games and 1hour after. Show up early in Town Square for LSU music, college football on the big screen and activities for the kids!

2012 SMart Melt will be featuring art from extraodinary students. Istrouma High, Prescott Middle and Winbourne Elementary schools will be represented at this year's event. Art will be displayed all month long during business hours. Come by and say hello!

Fitness on Town Lawn
Ongoing group fitness activities continue this fall includeing: Yoga Classes on the Town Lawn by Karmady Yoga, Happy's Running Club on Tuesday afternoons and Zumba classes on Mondays and Wednesdays. These events complement the launch of the Mayor's HealthyBR website that promotes fitness, and encourages community members to make healthy choices and join the movement to make Baton Rouge a healthier community.
