Honoring our Veterans on November 11th
Send us a picture of those that serve presently in the military or who have served previously in the military and we will honor them on the North Boulevard Town Square Beacon to celebrate Veterans Day. Downtown Baton Rouge is proud of all of our present and past patriots who have served in the military. Send in a photo of them to ddd@brgov.com and we will gratefully acknowledge them on the beacon screens on November 10, 11, and 12. Please send in your pictures by Thursday, November 8th at 12 noon.

North Boulevard Town Square



Touchdown Express Shuttle
The Capital Area Transit System is providing transportation to and from all 2012 LSU home football games. For only $4, fans can be picked up in North Boulevard Town Square as well as other locations around the city. The shuttle will run 4hrs before the games and 1hour after. Show up early in Town Square for LSU music, college football on the big screen and activities for the kids!

Pastime Gameday Shuttle
Pastime Restaurant offers their shuttle service for LSU homes games for $12. The first shuttle begins 3 hours before the kickoff and drops passengers off at the corner of Nicholson & Skip Bertman Drive. The pick-up after the game will be at Mike's Cage with the last bus heading back to Pastime no later than 30 minutes after the final gun.

Final Sunday in the Park with Creole String Beans
Sunday in the Park is a series of FREE outdoor concerts held on the Town Lawn of North Boulevard Town Square. This week, Creole String Beans will be capping off a great fall concert series!

Veterans Day Ceremonies this Saturday
Services will be held in the House Chambers of Louisiana's Old State Capitol at 11AM. Speakers will include The Honorable Melvin "Kip" Holden and Vietnam Veteran (U.S. Army) and Silver Star recipient Joe Nathan Jenkins. Master of Ceremonies will be Scott Rogers of the Around Town Show & WAFB. The Baton Rouge Music Club Chorus will perform a tribute to the men and women of our Armed Forces during the ceremony. The ceremony is FREE and open to the public.

Mistletoe Market at the Belle

The Fresh from the Market cooking demo will feature special guest Michael Prados, the recent Louisiana winner of the White House's Healthy Lunchtime Challenge. Chef Celeste Gill and Michael will cook an autumn soup and suggest ways to get kids in the kitchen. The cooking demonstration begins at 10AM inside the North Street seating area of Main Street Market.
