Light up the Levee
HAART is coordinating the local observance of the 26th Annual International AIDS Candlelight Memorial. This is among the world's oldest HIV/AIDS remembrance, awareness and community action events, taking place the third Sunday in May (5/17/09). In honor of this year's event, HAART has planned a candlelight vigil and memorial walk themed "Light up the Levee."

Walk This Way in History this Sunday!
Experience three centuries of Louisiana history with a special Capitol Park walking tour by museum staff. Spend an hour with us learning all about the significant events and colorful characters in our state's history. Tours begin and end at the Louisiana State Museum. Wear comfortable shoes!

Red Stick Farmer's Market
On the first Saturday of each month, the East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners are at the Red Stick Farmers Market to offer expert advice on seasonal gardening and often provide free soil sample kits. The Fresh from the Market Cooking Show happens every Saturday inside Main Street Market. This cooking demonstration showcases local chefs and food lovers from around Louisiana. Also on the first Saturday of each month, except January and May, the Baton Rouge Arts Market sets up next to the Red Stick Farmers Market.
