Save the date: 2012 Festival of Lights
Save the date for Baton Rouge's oldest holiday tradition. The 2012 Festival of Lights will be held next Friday, November 30th in North Boulevard Town Square. Enjoy holiday music in Town Square through the 1st of the year. Click the icon for a schedule of events.

26th Annual Turkey Trot
Get a head start on your Thanksgiving feast while supporting the March of Dimes' efforts to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Register online or on the day of the race. The race begins at 7:30AM at the corner of 4th Street and North Boulevard.

BR Walls Project Art Gallery Opening
Wednesday night is the grand opening of the BR Walls Project art gallery featuring new works by muralists Alex Harvie & TJ Black. Works by both Black and Harvie will be displayed at the BR Walls Project office at 327 North Blvd in downtown Baton Rouge from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event is free and welcomes those of all ages. Come for a sneak peek of their BREC wall at the Convention St. Park downtown which will be unveiled December 12th at 11am.

Chucho Valdes and the Afro-Cuban Maessengers at the Manship
The Arts Council presents the River City Jazz Masters Series with 8-time Grammy-winner, Latin jazz pianist, Chucho Valdés & the Afro-Cuban Messengers. Tickets are still available for both shows, at the Manship Theatre in the Shaw Center for the Arts. Best seating choices are in the 9pm show. Don't miss this world-famous pioneer in Latin jazz performing here in Baton Rouge this Tuesday evening!

Bellamy Brothers at the Belle
The FREE Belle of Baton Rouge Concert Series continues this week with the Bellamy Brothers. The country music duo brothers David Milton Bellamy and Homer Howard Bellamy will be performing their crossover hit "Let Your Love Flow" at the Belle this Friday. Free Concert Fridays at the Belle has some of Louisiana's hottest Friday night music in the Atrium.

Coming Soon... BREC's Convention Street Park
The Recreation and Park Commission of East Baton Rouge Parish will celebrate the Grand Opening of Convention Street Park on Wednesday, December 12, from 11AM to Noon at 717 Convention Street in downtown Baton Rouge. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. In partnership with the Downtown Development District and the Baton Rouge Walls Project, Convention Street Park is part of the Seventh Street Corridor which emerged from the Plan Baton Rouge initiative as the ideal pedestrian corridor connecting the hearts of the Spanish Town and Beauregard Town neighborhoods.
