BR Walls Fundraiser at Mud and Water
BR Walls is holding a fundraiser called Come Paint With Me event at downtown's newest spot, Mud and Water. Participants are encouraged to join gallery renowned artists in a live-collaborative painting experience with an art auction fundraiser to follow. Entertainment will also include a performance of partner acrobatics and the soundtrack for the evening provided by DJ Otto and Salamander. All proceeds raised will go to the BR Walls Project to continue enhancing the artistic beauty of our capital city into 2013.

BREC's Convention Street Park
The Recreation and Park Commission of East Baton Rouge Parish will celebrate the Grand Opening of Convention Street Park on Wednesday, December 12, from 11AM to Noon at 717 Convention Street in downtown Baton Rouge. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. In partnership with the Downtown Development District and the Baton Rouge Walls Project, Convention Street Park is part of the Seventh Street Corridor which emerged from the Plan Baton Rouge initiative as the ideal pedestrian corridor connecting the hearts of the Spanish Town and Beauregard Town neighborhoods.

FHL Heritage Lecture: Dr. William Cooper
The Foundation for Historical Louisiana hosts a Heritage Lecture with featured speaker: Dr. William Cooper, author, scholar, and LSU Boyd professor of history on his book We Have the War Upon Us - The Onset of the Civil War November 1860 - April 1861.
