Corporate Cup 5K
The Providence Corporate Cup Run/Walk includes thousands of people participating each year as company teams or individuals on a 5k race course. Hundreds of companies throughout our community participate, and many companies have on-site tent locations for their employees, business associates, and friends. FREE food, drink, musical entertainment, and other amenities are provided to all participants at the post-race party in North Boulevard Town Square.

Lunchtime Lagniappe: Landmarks and Monuments to Baton Rouge
Dr. Hilda Krousel tours Baton Rouge landmarks and monuments, some long forgotten and obscure. A former editor at LSU Press, Dr. Krousel is the author of Don Antonio de Ulloa: First Spanish Governor to the State of Louisiana. All programs begin at noon and are FREE and open to public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch and may come and go as their schedules require. The Louisiana State Museum Friends will have refreshments available for a small donation.

Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans
The USS KIDD Veterans Memorial is proud to host a celebration honoring our Vietnam and Vietnam-era veterans on Saturday, March 23, 2013 on the riverfront in downtown Baton Rouge. A memorial observance will take place at 11:00 a.m. Keynote speaker will be Brigadier General Sherian Cadoria, USA (Ret.). Also, pack a picnic lunch and bring your lawn chairs or purchase from onsite vendors selling hamburgers, funnel cakes, and more (Please no BBQ Pits, Tents, or Pets). Big River Express will perform Swamp Pop, Rhythm & Blues, and Soul music favorites following the ceremony. Come down to the Riverfront and show your appreciation for our Vietnam and Vietnam-era veterans!

Honoring Our Past Luncheon
On March 28, 1960, seven Southern University students challenged the "whites-only" lunch counter at the Kress Store in downtown Baton Rouge. The Kress Gallery will be having a special luncheon catered by Stroubes Chophouse and will be showing of the documentary film "Taking a Seat for Justice: The 1960 Baton Rouge Sit-In,"by Dr. Rachel L. Emanuel and unveiling of original painting by Taufeeq Muhammad honoring the sit-in. Reservations are required and seating is limited.
