Repentance Park Ribbon Cutting
Please join us for the official opening of Repentance Park on Tuesday, April 2nd at 12 noon.
Mayor-President Holden and City officials will officially cut the ribbon on this important park for our City. Simultaneous with the ribbon cutting will be a ceremonious toss of the new Frisbees and various sport balls available in the park for public use. Picnic in the Park will immediately follow.

Back by popular demand the Zumba - YMCA Spring Outdoor Fitness Series return Monday, April 1 at 5:30PM in Town Square. Start your week off right with this exciting class available for FREE. Zumba is a Latin inspired dance fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music and dance movements. Whether you are interested in flexibility, strength, stress reduction or balance, this class will help you learn in a non-threatening way.

This week's lecture, The Fresh Table: Cooking in Louisiana All Year Around, features cook, blogger and The Advocate food columnist Helana Brigman. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunches and may come and go as they please.

Honoring Our Past
Join the Kress Gallery for a luncheon on March 28, 2013 commemorating the Kress sit-in by seven Southern University students. The documentary "Taking a Seat of Justice" by Dr. Rachel Emanuel will be shown during the luncheon. An original painting by Artist Taufeeq "Feeq" Muhammad honoring the 1960 sit-in will be unveiled.
