Orphan Annie at Live After Five
The Capital City's premier live music event continues this Friday. Each Spring and Fall, visitors and locals take in the sights and sounds of downtown as musicians come together to perform a FREE concert in downtown Baton Rouge. This season is being held in the newly opened Repentance Park. Orphan Annie will be the featured artist at this week's event.

Earth Day
There is something for everyone at Louisiana Earth Day 2012! The theme for this year's festival, "Be The Change" stresses the importance of individual and corporate stewardship. Creative exhibits and activities produced by over 400 volunteers educate and inspire festival-goers on how they can "Go Green" at home and at work. Regional music and food provides a chance for all ages to celebrate the unique beauty of our state. FREE admission.

Sunday in the Park
The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge hosts Sunday in the Park concert series which takes place on Sundays from noon to 3PM in North Boulevard Town Square. The FREE concerts will run through April and May. This Sunday it will be held In conjunction with Earth Day and will feature folk rock artists The Mulligan Brothers.

Bike to Work Week
Baton Rouge's Bike to Work week kicked off on Monday, April 15th and is running through Friday the 19th. Group rides are taking place every morning at 7am and riders will receive FREE Bike to Work week items, participate in a Bike Raffle, and be eligible for food specials throughout the week at participating restaurants. Every day this week, FREE coffee and t-shirts will be available in Town Square to bike commuters in the morning. The week will culminate with a bike ride on Friday at 5PM to Live After Five in Repentance Park. Visit the website below for more information and a calendar of events.

Color Run
The Color Run 5k event is a one of a kind experience
that is less about speed and more about enjoying a color crazy day with your friends and family. The Color Run is about participants of all different speeds, ages, shapes, and sizes toeing the same start line. Come be a part of this "The Happiest Race on the Planet!" as it makes its' Baton Rouge debut.

Paige Brown is science communicator and macro photographer in Baton Rouge. This event delves into the world of extreme close-up photography, featuring native plants, insects and wildlife. Strawberry Jam
Celebrate the Louisiana strawberry harvest this Saturday with the Market's annual Strawberry Jam. Farmers and food artisans will feature all things strawberry including strawberry jam and preserves, strawberry wine and flats of sweet Louisiana strawberries. Watch Nino's Restaurant Owner and Chef Elton Hyndman will showcase the Louisiana strawberry in tasty spring recipes during the Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration at 10 am inside Main Street Market. The little ones will also enjoy a berry special art activity and face painting.

National Astronomy Day
Join LASM as they celebrate the intriguing science of astronomy! Pennington Planetarium will host a variety of special astronomy-related activities and events including a special planetarium shows, exhibits, a telescope display, and more. Visitors will learn about the importance of dark skies, light pollution, and careers in astronomy. Free with general admission.

The Listening Room presents Ben Williams
Jazz bassist, Ben Williams will appear in this season's final performance of the Arts Council's Listening Room Series of jazz concerts on Wednesday, April 17 at 7:30pm in the very intimate bistro-style setting of the Hartley/Vey Studio Theatre in the Shaw Center for the Arts. He will be accompanied by his quintet featuring piano, bass, drums, guitar and saxophone. The Listening Room series is presented by the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge and the River City Jazz Coalition.
