River Center Library Schematic Design
A presentation of the schematic design for the new River Center Library by WHLC Architects/Schwartz Silver Architects will occur on Thursday, July 18th at 4PM as part of the agenda of the Library Board of Control meeting. The meeting will take place at the BREC Administration building, 6201 Florida Boulevard. This will be the first time that the schematic design will be presented and all are encouraged to attend.

Cool as a Cucumber at the Market
Cucumbers take center stage this week as Red Stick Farmers Market and Louisiana 2 Step present Cool as a Cucumber. Cucumbers are very popular in Asian dishes and this Saturday's Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration will feature cucumbers in traditional preparations by Chef Jimmy Le. Fresh from the Market is a weekly event during the Saturday Market and begins at 10AM in the North Street seating area of Main Street Market. Louisiana 2 Step recipe cards will be available for great ideas to create summer menus.

American Cancer Society Gleaux Run
The purpose of this event is to gather the Baton Rouge community together to participate in a 5k run to benefit the American Cancer Society. The theme is "Gleaux Run For Relay", where participants can be as creative as they want by incorporating lights and other glow objects to their running gear. So as the night falls, attention will be on all the racers who are glowing in honor of the fight against cancer!
