The New York Times has called Karrin Allyson a "singer with a feline touch and impeccable intonation." She sings in English, French, Portuguese, Italian, and Spanish, and draws her material from a variety of genres, including bossa nova, blues, bebop, samba, jazz standards, scat and vocalese. She also performs ballads, pop standards, and selections from the Great American Songbook.

DYPA Foundation's Bully Prevention 5K
Come out this Saturday as the DYPA Foundation hosts a 5K Walk, Run, and Roll to educate the youth on bullying and violence through education & outreach. They will provide the youth with literature on recognizing signs and symptoms of bullying, resources to get assistance, and statistics regarding violence due to lack of support for those in school, with mental illness, and more.

Red Dragon Songwriter Series featuring Joe Ely
Texas music legend, Joe Ely, has been delighting audiences for over forty years. Ely began his music career playing with childhood buddies Butch Hancock and Jimmy Dale Gilmore, collectively known as the Flatlanders. His solo career became the largest of the three and Ely became an international star. Louisiana songwriter Martin Flanagan will open the show.

Saturday at the Market
New Year's resolutions begin at the Red Stick Farmers Market with fresh produce for healthy meals. Shop with local farmers and food artisans this Saturday for fresh cabbage, broccoli, citrus, carrots, cauliflower and more! Main Street Market cafes will offer a variety of hot breakfast and lunch items to enjoy throughout the morning. Arrive early and watch the Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration at 10AM inside the North Street entrance to Main Street Market. If raining, the farmers will locate inside the Galvez garage.
