Krewe of Artemis Parade
The Krewe of Artemis 12th Annual Mardi Gras Parade will roll through the streets of downtown Baton Rouge on Friday, February 21st at 7 p.m. with the theme, "Come Rock 'N' Roll With Artemis." Parade begins and ends at the corner of Government Street and St. Philip Street. See the icon below for the complete parade route.

Krewe of Mystique Parade
Mystique rolls onto Baton Rouge streets at 2 p.m. Parade begins and ends at the corner of Government and St. Philip Streets. Krewe Mystique de la Capitale held its first parade in 1977 and has continued with its annual Mardi Gras Parades to this date. With the addition of several bands and many other marching groups, this parade is a wonderful experience for all that attend. See the icon below for the complete parade route.

Krewe of Orion Parade
The Krewe of Orion's 15th annual Mardi Gras parade will roll through downtown Baton Rouge on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 6:30PM. This family-oriented parade begins and ends at the corner of Government Street and St. Philip Street. Parade goers will be treated to a lineup of exciting, colorful traditional lighted and tractor-pulled floats. Following the parade theme, "Legends and Landmarks," each float will be decorated to depict well known area people and places. See the icon below for the complete parade route.

Billy Joe Shaver at the Manship
One of the most lauded songwriters in all of country music, Billy Joe Shaver is still at the top of his game well in to his fifth decade in the business. Artists who have recorded Billy Joe's tunes include Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, The Allman Brothers, Elvis Presley and Tom T. Hall. Shaver will perform with his band. Louisiana songwriter Steve Judice will open the show.

Lang Lang at the River Center
Having been heralded as the "hottest artist on the classical music planet" by the New York Times, Lang Lang has played sold out concerts in every major city in the world and is the first Chinese pianist to be engaged by the Vienna Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic and the New York Philharmonic orchestras. Time Magazine has recently included Lang Lang in the "Time 100", the magazine's annual list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World, naming him as a symbol of the youth of China, and its future.

Join the USS Kidd on Friday, February 21, 2014, at 1:00PM for KIDD Keynotes. This month's topic is African-American History. Special guest speakers will include Joe Jenkins (USA-Vietnam), Olena R. Verdun (USAF), CPT Lance T. Cagnolotti (LANG), Kenny Lynch (USAF), Tracy Lewis, Jr. (USA), and Leroy Jenkins (USN).

Gala of Royal Horses at the River Center
Gala of The Royal Horses is created, produced and led by world-renowned riding master Rene Gasser, who with the experiences of seven generations has recreated an event only previously seen at the famous riding schools in Vienna and Spain. The Royal Horses of Europe are some of the most celebrated in history, favored for centuries by royalty, equestrian riders and bullfighters and this performance will celebrate the tradition, athleticism and grace of these revered creatures. Come out this Sunday to watch these majestic animals in action!

The Creative Bloc
The Creative Bloc, an 11,500 square feet, collaborative workspace located on the corner of N. Eighth & Main Streets in downtown Baton Rouge, commences construction Tuesday, February 17th. Visual media and creative professionals are able to lease space in The Creative Bloc for various durations ranging from hourly to monthly to annually. The space is now available for pre-leasing to established creative businesses and entrepreneurs specializing in the areas of video, film, photography, graphic arts, and app development. On-site resources will include a fully equipped video and sound production studio, post-production suites, media server and work and office spaces.
