Lunchtime Lagniappe: Remembering the Bayou Classic
Join R.L. Stockard on a journey through one of Louisiana's most famous football traditions. Stockard was the first African-American staff sports writer for a non-African-American daily newspaper and Southern University's first sports information director. All programs begin at noon and are free and open to public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunches and may come and go as their schedules require.

CATS Roll Out
The new system operates from five main transit hubs including North Boulevard Town Sqaure. Riders will no longer have to travel to the terminal at 22nd Street to get to most destinations. New routes include an airport express, an O'Neal Park-n-Ride express, a Mall of Louisiana to downtown express and more.

Showcase the Space Soiree
Few settings in Baton Rouge can offer more gracious elegance than the facility rental spaces within the Shaw Center for the Arts. The unique venues offer breathtaking views over the Mississippi River and original works of art on the walls in the LSU Museum of Art. This event will showcase six venue spaces, including the LSU School of Art Alfred C. Glassell, Jr. Gallery; the Bert and Sue Turner Gallery and Alfred C. Glassell, Jr. Boardroom; the River Terrace; the Paula Garvey Manship floor which houses 14 galleries of the LSU Museum of Art; and the Irene Pennington Rooftop Terrace next to Tsunami restaurant.

St. James Friday Lenten Lunches
James Episcopal Church invites you to Bishops Hall, at the corner of Florida and N. Fourth Street for Gumbo 2014! Volunteers at St. James will serve fabulous Gumbo lunches of either shrimp, or chicken and sausage gumbo, along with Sensation Salad, bread and a tasty dessert, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. each Friday. Dine-in customers can enjoy water, tea or coffee with their meal. Drive-thru pickup of boxed lunches is also available. New Kid's Club at the Market
Calling all kids! Sign up for the Red Stick Sprouts kids club this Saturday at the Red Stick Farmers Market. The Red Stick Sprouts teaches kids about where their food comes from and healthy eating. Kids 12 and under can sign up this Saturday and participate in fun activities and face painting. Eric Arceneaux will have a special kid-friendly cooking demonstration during the 10AM Fresh from the Market show inside Main Street Market. Kids can also sample fruits and vegetables from the Louisiana Culinary Institute. Bring the kids Saturday to sign up and pick up a Sprouts tote bag.

Red Dragon Songwriter Series
Any discussion of the greatest living songwriters must surely include Jimmy Webb. He has scored major hits for such diverse artists as Glen Campbell, The Fifth Dimension, Richard Harris, Art Garfunkel and Donna Summer. Jimmy Webb and the Manship's grand piano are a perfect combination. Louisiana songwriter Clay Parker will open the show.
