Event Procedures & Guidelines
An Event Procedures and Guidelines manual is now available for anyone looking to facilitate an event or open a business Downtown! The manual is a compilation of existing City/Parish policies for special events, parades, etc. created to act as a guide through the permitting processes and procedures. The manual is available at the DDD office and at where it can be browsed by sections.

Celebrate the 4th Downtown!
Journey downtown to the Baton Rouge Riverfront and celebrate this day of freedom. The Annual Star-Spangled Celebration activities will kick off at 1:30 p.m. at the Riverfront Stage between the USS KIDD Veterans Memorial and Red Stick Plaza. Tour the USS KIDD from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. or watch the fireworks from the decks of the USS KIDD. The Hilton, Manship Theatre, LSU Museum of Art, and others will also hold special events and deals. It all began so simply... a boy is allowed to stay at home for the first time. But, the Mouse shows up, hungry - talkative - and not to be ignored. The Boy gives the Mouse a cookie hoping to send him on his way, but there's no stopping this Mouse! And he's only getting started.

Dalton's Homecoming Reunion
The Dalton's Homecoming Reunion will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 27th. Free music and food will be provided. Come share a story you may have from the Dalton's Department Store days, The Rathskellar, The Beef Tavern, Didees Restaurant, or Tabby's Blues Box.

Fine Art, Fine Wine @ LASM
Unwind at this after-hours event, touring the exhibition The Purse and the Person: A Century of Women's Purses with art curator Elizabeth Weinstein. Wine and hors d'oeuvres are complimentary with admission: $5 members, $10 nonmembers.

Red Stick Roller Derby @ River Center
Saturday, June 27th, RSRD will be taking on Auburn Alabama's Burn City Rollers in a rematch! The first time these teams went head to head was in April 2009, and the result was a win for RSRD. Will the Red Stick girls be able to pull off another victory? Be there for the TIGERTOWN THROWDOWN!

"Wine Walk Wednesday"
This week we will begin @ Kingfish Lounge at or around 5:30pm. Pick up your $10 wristbands here. The walk will visit Stroube's Chophouse, Tsunami, 333 Bistreaux, and finally, The Wine Loft. Each will serve wine glasses at least half off for a total of 16 tastings and 16 glasses half off.

Whole Foods & BREADA's 5% Community Giving Day
Whole Foods Market has chosen local non- profit Big River Economic and Agricultural Development Alliance (BREADA) as their partner for the 5% Community Giving Day. Shop at Whole Foods Market on Wednesday June 24, 2009 and 5% of the net sales from that day will be donated to BREADA. BREADA is the organization that operates Main Street Market downtown and 3 weekly locations of the Red Stick Farmers Market. BREADA is committed to building community and supporting Louisiana's small family farmers, fishers and food artisans by building a fair and just local food system.

Tune in to the hot new show Hollywood Presents Downtown, a 30-minute program, which is shot in Hollywood's Studio 7 on the banks of the Mississippi River, where you'll find out the latest from Downtown Baton Rouge. The show airs each Wednesday at 8:30PM and Saturday at 10:00PM on Cox Channel 4.
