The Art Melt is an occasion for all the senses - sights, sounds, smell, taste, and touch - guests viewing the selected pieces of art at the reception will also enjoy hors d'oeuvres, live musical entertainment, and performances. The event is free and open to the public, with a cash bar available.

BR Advocates for Safe Streets (BRASS) Presents Veer @ Manship Theatre

VEER explores America's fast-growing bicycling culture, and sub-culture, by profiling five people whose lives are inextricably tied to bicycling and the bike-centric social groups they belong to. This film screening is part of BRASS's 2009-2010 fundraising and membership drive. Proceeds will go to expanding bicycle education programs; continuing efforts to improve bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and, expanding outreach efforts into the community.

Shaw Center's Second Saturdays: Explore, Take and Make
Eye-spy lots of art in the LSU Museum of Art's galleries. How good are you at spying colors, lines, textures, and patterns? Come find out and then bring a "Take-and-Make" bag home to create your own artwork! Supplies are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult who is prepared to provide assistance.
