Celebrate July 4th Downtown!
Come celebrate downtown on the 4th of July! Downtown is celebrating with movies in Town Square, live music on the riverfront, and Fireworks on the Mississippi provided by WBRZ at 9PM! Select the information icon to view the event flyer.

An American Tail at Manship Theatre
All aboard the S.S. Manship for a great summer of activities. This year's films are going to be a ton of fun, plus the super cool fountains are back for everyone to enjoy after the show! (weather permitting) Plus BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo is stopping by to show off one of their creatures in person!

WEATHER or not you like it . . . summer is here! Don't forget, it's not too late to register for the Sumer Reading Program!! This week's Science Center focuses on weather. Although our weather is usually hot here in Louisiana, children will create their own snowflakes from paper to remind them of cooler weather. They will see a summer snowstorm in a jar, and also how a rain cloud works. Children will also be able to create a weather wheel to take home with them. For more information, call 389-4959.

4th of July at Baton Rouge Arts Market
Come out and celebrate the 4th of July and the arts in our community. The Baton Rouge Arts Market showcases original, hand-made works every first Saturday of the month from 8:00AM until 12:00PM at 5th and Main Streets. Shop for the spring season with artists from Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and Florida who will present original works of art in a variety of mediums including, pottery, jewelry, woodwork, textiles, photographs, glass, paintings, sculpture, hand-made soaps and so much more.

Celebrate Independence Day at the Market
Join the fun at the Market this Saturday with local food, music and fun! John Gray will open the Farmers Market this Saturday at 8AM with the Star Spangled Banner. The full band will join him and play festive tunes throughout the morning. Farmers will plenty of watermelons, blueberries, tomatoes, sweet corn and peaches for holiday parties! Sara Vincent will have grilling tips for backyard BBQs during the 10AM Fresh form the Market cooking demonstration inside Main Street Market. The Daughters of the American Revolution will also be handing out flags to customers to celebrate.

Free First Sunday
First Sunday is a cooperative endeavor offered by downtown museums for free admission to events on the first Sunday of each month. Visit the LASM, LSU MOA, and USS KIDD and explore all the wonderful things they have to offer for FREE!
