Allen Toussaint at Manship Theatre
Manship Theatre kicks off its 10th Anniversary Season with a performance by New Orleans R&B legend Allen Toussaint on September 19. The evening will begin with the Southern Nights Season Opening Reception at 6:30pm in The Gallery at Manship Theatre with Sazeracs and Hurricanes. Food provided by Restaurant IPO, Stroube's Seafood and Steaks, and Brew Ha-Ha.

The LSU Game Day / CATS Touchdown Express has six downtown pick-up locations. For only $10 per game, the Touchdown Express offers a safe, easy and convenient to and from solution for tiger fans to commute to the game.

Another great mode of transportation to the game is by bike. Fans can travel to the game by biking the 2.5 miles from downtown on the lighted Mississippi Levee Path.

Saturday at the Market
Pick up first of the season pumpkins at the Market this Saturday to decorate your home for the fall! Tender greens, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, squash and peppers will also be available from local farmers. The Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration will feature Megan Simone with Love at Phirst Bite showcasing fresh vegetables in seasonal recipes. The cooking demo begins at 10AM inside the North Street seating area of Main Street Market.

Heritage Lecture at Old Governor's Mansion
Historian Ron Chapman will speak at the next Heritage Lecture scheduled for Thursday, September 18. Chapman will speak on his publication, "Battle of New Orleans: But for a Piece of Wood," which focuses on the entire British Campaign for the gulf as they tried to take New Orleans.

Seashell Discoveries at LASM
Dr. Emilio Garcia, a lifelong collector of shells, has been recording the molluscan biodiversity of the Gulf of Mexico for almost a decade. Go under seas on an expedition with Dr. Garcia as he shows images and discusses the process of dredging for seashells in deep water on board the research vessel Pelican.
